commitment to diversity

Park Place Community School’s commitment to diversity requires the support and participation of our entire community. The daily work of students, staff and parents draws a direct line to our vision of a more equitable, diverse, harmonious, and inclusive world.

UNIFORM POLICY

We have implemented a uniform policy designed to provide consistency and cost-effectiveness. Under the new system, once your child's uniform color is assigned, it will remain unchanged from year to year, allowing parents to avoid the expense of purchasing new uniforms annually. The shirt color your child starts with will follow them until their graduation, creating a sense of continuity and unity throughout their school year.

Shirts will be available for purchase at our school, which our administration team will be happy to assist you with in room 410. For incoming 6th graders, they are required to wear our navy-blue collared shirts, sweatshirts, and/or t-shirts.

To give you an idea of the prices, the official polo shirts are available at $15 each. Additionally, we have t-shirts available for purchase at $10 each. Sweatshirts are $20 each, providing our students with comfort and warmth during the colder months.

OUR CULTURE

OUR SCHOOL

Our goal is to create and maintain a school culture that welcomes, recognizes, and celebrates diversity in all of its forms, including, but not limited to, diversity of socio-economic background, culture, physical appearance, race, national or ethnic background, gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, family structure, religion, perspective, physical disability, learning style, linguistic difference, and age.

We strive to foster trust, empathy, and conscientiousness through our pedagogy, operations, and activities, both inside the classroom and in our larger school community. In addition, we continually examine how bias and privilege affect our perceptions of the world around us and what we can do to challenge and change any biases we might currently hold, no matter how discomforting they may be to confront.
